It is all about Stress

We get stuck. We want change but nothing seems to flow. Everything feels completely out of reach.  Decisions and choices seem all too overwhelming.  We are drowning in a sea of stress and we seesaw between a state of anxiety and depression.  And there doesn’t seem to be a lot of joy left in our lives.

Donna Eden captures this perfectly.

“Many of the daily stressors of life trigger the primitive brain into an emergency response condition, up to 80% of the blood leaves our forebrain to support the fight or flight response, stress chemicals pour into our bloodstream, primitive stress response emotions sweep over us and we proceed through another day in the modern civilized world with the biochemistry of a cave dweller.” (Donna Eden, Energy Medicine, 2009).

Believe it or not, we are designed to live in perfect health, with our head, heart, body and spirit all holding hands, pulling in the same direction. Achieving our full potential is often hijacked by the way we think and feel, not to mention the challenges of life that are thrown our way.

We struggle to adapt and often find ourselves in distress.  This is our body’s way of gently saying, “Wake up!”  Things need to shift and blockages need to be released.

Of course, we can choose to heed our bodies sweet whispers or ignore them at the risk of being deafened by a fog horn next time.

“Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens.”

Carl Jung
